The Pro-Hunter DeepSea SeaDweller Collection
In 1960, the US Navy's experimental bathscaph, the Triste, successfully descended into the Mariana Trench, the deepest know depression on the Earth's surface.
With Lt Don Walsh (USN) at the helm, accompanied by Jacques Piccard, the Trieste accomplished a feat so increadible that it forever raised the bar for deep-ocean exploration.
Emergingfrom 10.916 metres (37,800 feet) the bathyscape was in perfect working order - as was the Rolex Deepsea Special Prototype that had been attached to the outsde during the historic dive.
A performance that would cement Rolex's place in history as the maker of the most resistant and reliable watch ever.
At Christies Geneva November 2005 we broke the World Record price for a Rolex Watch and bought The Rolex Deep Sea Special No. 1, on behalf of Pro Hunter Reza Rashidian.
